Unwanted root - This root is growing in the
opposite direction. As the tree grows, this root
will thicken and will not look natural / in harmony
with the other roots that are more or less growing out
radially. |

How is your casuarina doing? Has it survived?
ReplyDeleteHi Neli,
ReplyDeleteYes it well and has put lots of growth since. The trunk did not thicken all that much. I'll check on the roots in June [ end of winter / start of summer here ].
I am going to post today my casuarina experiment...I have probably 3.5cm growth on one of them...in 6 month...all documented. I still need to grow it since the trunk is only 4 cm in diameter...but compared to the 0,5 cm I started with 6 month ago it is very good growth.
ReplyDeleteI am just scared to reduce the roots and repot themmm I hear they are hard to root reduce. What is your experience with root reduction?
That's good to hear Neli.
ReplyDeleteJust be careful with the wiring with this much growth. The tree will grow into the wires quickly and casuarina don't seem to recover as easily as other trees.
I have not yet checked on the roots on this one. Will try to have a look this weekend or by next weekend.
